Paula L. Hemenway, Program Director, has more
than 20 years of experience in technology and business management,
primarily in the chemical industry. At ECG, Paula conducts environmental
due diligence reviews and works with investors to help them understand,
track, and report the environmental impact of clean energy and technology funds.
Prior to helping launch ECG, Paula was a Principal Consultant at SRI Consulting
where she led projects involving identification and selection
of new business opportunities and development of market entry
strategies for selected opportunities.
Before joining SRI Paula was an independent consultant to the
plastics industry, managing projects
involving recycling of plastics. She was also
a research manager at the Dow Chemical Company and had responsibility
for development of applications for a variety of plastics.
She held numerous research and development positions with
Dow, including managing projects involving thermoplastic composites,
polymeric optical fibers, plastics recycling, agricultural
chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. She is the recipient of five
U.S. patents for new manufacturing processes.
Paula received
her BS in chemical engineering from the University of California
at Davis, where she received the College of Engineering Medal.
She received her MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California,
where she has also been an adjunct Professor in the MBA programs,
teaching statistics, decision models, and managerial forecasting.
Paula
lives with her husband and two children in the San Francisco
Bay Area.
