Cliff Brown
has a background in strategic management consulting, process technology development and transfer, and sustainable building.
He conducts environmental due diligence reviews and works with investors to help them
understand, track, and report the environmental impact of clean energy and technology funds.
Prior to joining ECG, Cliff managed major historic conservation projects using sustainable
building practices. Previously, Cliff was a management consultant at strategy consulting
firm Mars & Company in San Francisco. Clients included Credit Suisse, Nestle, Levi Strauss,
Blockbuster, and Clorox. Cliff began his career as an engineer in the Silicon Valley, where
he worked for materials science innovator Raychem to transfer technology worldwide.
He also developed process technologies for electronics companies Harris and Watkins-Johnson.
Cliff received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where he
conducted sponsored research in fracture mechanics. He later earned a Masters in
Management Science and Engineering, also from Stanford University.
Cliff lives with his wife and daughter in Grass Valley, CA, where he volunteers on the
St. Joseph's Historic Preservation Committee and as a coach for youth soccer and girls'
softball. Cliff enjoys year-round outdoor recreation with family and friends in the
beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills.
