Environmental Capital Group has been at the forefront of the cleantech investment sector, helping CalPERS launch the "Green Wave" of investments into private equity. CalPERS' visionary efforts catalyzed the market, leading to nearly $9 billion invested in clean energy and technology funds and companies. As the environmental advisor to Pacific Corporate Group and CalPERS' clean energy and technology investments, ECG helped to ensure environmental accountability by providing environmental due diligence services and assessments of environmental benefits generated by 24 private equity funds with investments in hundreds of portfolio companies. This effort represented the majority of private equity investments in clean technology in the U.S.
